Spring has arrived!!! There is a lot going on within FCC Kid's Ministry…let me give you a glance.
On Sunday Mornings in KidZone Live we will be spending the month of April focusing on the word Humility. Humility is putting others first by giving up what you think you deserve. This month we will be spending a lot of time focusing on the life of Jesus and all He did to show us humility. Some of the biblical accounts we will be focusing on over these five Sundays will be: Jesus washing the Disciples’ feet, Jesus praying in the Garden, the Easter Story, the Great Commission, and we will be wrapping up the month by focusing on how Jesus was a perfect example of putting others first. Throughout this Easter season we hope that the FCC Kids learn what it means to put others first and humble themselves.
Salt & Light continues to be an amazing time for our students to grow closer to God and to each other every Wednesday night. Our K-2nd graders are continuing to go through a series called "Candy". I know this sounds like a strange name for a series, but this series has been focused on pairing a candy up with the meaning of a Bible Story. Our hope is that when these kids see those candies it causes them to think of the Bible Story that goes with it. Our 3rd-5th graders have just started a series called "Under Pressure". This has been a series I have been looking forward to all semester because these kids are going to get to hear from some of our amazing High School students on how to deal with the issues of pressure in school, family, activities, and even in church. We hope that through this series and through C-Groups these kids will learn what it means to trust in God when the pressure gets to be too much.
First String has moved back to FCC and will still be taking place on Sunday evenings from 5:30-6:30 PM. Our hope is the weather stays nice so we can take advantage of going outside. We will let you know if the location is going to be elsewhere.
The last thing I want to say, is to be on the look out for information coming out about FCC Kids Camp, FCC Kids Day Camp, VBS, and other events for the FCC Kids Ministry. If you ever want to know what exactly is going on with the different programs within the FCC Kids Ministry, go to www.fccdc.com/fcckids. If you click on any of the logos for KidZone, Salt & Light, or First String, you can find the schedule for everything we have going on.
This school year has been incredible so far and I can’t wait to see what God is going to continue to do in FCC Kids Ministry through the final 9 weeks and into this summer.
