What is adopt-a-student?
Adopt-A-Student is a new fundraiser where we ask for members of the congregation to commit to covering either 1/4, 1/2 or a full amount of the cost for a student.

Last summer we took 42 students from 6th grade to graduated seniors. This year we’re anticipating taking EVEN MORE!.
What happens when i adopt a student?
You’ll be given a packet with the student that has been randomly selected to receive your donation. You will get a profile of that student, where they go to school, their age and grade and most importantly what their favorite snacks are! When you adopt a student we ask for an added level of support by asking that you get your student some snacks for the week of CIY!
You’ll also get a CIY Move or Mix keychain with your students name on it. These keychains serve as reminders of your student so every time you look at it, you pray for them and their week at CIY!
How do students qualify?
All students qualify , however we ask that parents designate whether or not they want their student to be eligible to be adopted. They will be required to select that option on their registration forms. So the only students that can be “adopted” are students that parents have designated as eligible.
Do I have to pay the full cost?
Absolutely not! If you would rather not pay for the full cost of the student’s scholarship we have ways you can help without breaking the bank.
We are offering 1/4 scholarships, 1/2 scholarships and full scholarships.
1/4 scholarships are $95, 1/2 scholarships are $190 and full scholarships are $385.
Can I adopt a student?
Absolutely! We would love to have you adopt a student. Like we said, we have 3 options for funding a student going to CIY so give us a call at the church or email Zac - zachary@fccdc.com to get more information and figure out what next steps are!
Can our life group adopt a student?
Absolutely! We would love it if you did. In fact your group could adopt more than just one student if you wanted. You could pull together to fund as many students as you feel like. We would love for your group to fund as many students as you feel like.
Can I remain anonymous?
You sure can! On our online forms there is a way for you to select whether or not you’d like to let the student and their family know that you’re “adopting” them. If you’d rather stay anonymous, you can select that and we’ll say nothing.
