Dusty Cookson

Dusty and his family come to us from central Illinois and have called Dodge City home since 2017. He and his wife, Monica have 4 children (all daughters) and are very active in the community, and are passionate about making much of Jesus.
Dusty is passionate about preaching/teaching, leading, and seeing people experience the love of Jesus in Dodge City and throughout the entire world. Before Dodge City, Dusty served as the NextGen Pastor in Jacksonville, IL.
He has earned a Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Illinois University, a Master’s Degree in Teacher Leadership from UIS, and a Master’s Degree in Bible and Theology from Lincoln Christian University.
He enjoys St. Louis sports, running, reading, and writing. He has completed a marathon and several ½ marathons.
Fun fact: Dusty had 2 classes with Tony Romo while in college.

Brian Vanarsdale

Brian comes to FCCDC from Illinois, but now calls Dodge City home! Whether it's building homes in Mexico, working alongside missionaries in Africa, or serving in the local community, Brian loves seeing the Church doing what it was made to do - making an impact for Jesus in the world around it.
Before coming to Dodge, Brian spent the last 15 years in full-time ministry working with youth, leading worship, and developing discipleship programs. Brian earned a Masters of Divinity from Lincoln Christian University. Brian and his wife, Hannah, stay busy with their three boys - Kendall, Nathan, and Andrew. In his free time Brian enjoys woodworking, golf, hunting, fishing, and watching the Chicago White Sox.
Fun fact – Brian is restoring a 1965 Chevy C10 pick-up truck named “Clementine.” He can’t wait to get it running and begin cruising around Dodge City!

Susan Ridgway

Hello! My name is Susan Ridgway. I am the worship minister here at FCC. I am originally from Liberal, Ks but have lived in Dodge City for about 20 years. I attended Kansas State University earning my Bachelors in Music Education. I taught vocal and instrumental music for seven years before making the move to work in the church full-time.
I have four children, one amazing daughter-in-law, and one super amazing grandson. We also have horses, dogs, and a cat in our busy home.
My hobbies include anything to do with music. I also love to run…slowly. If you have any questions about worship ministry you can contact me at susanr@fccdc.com.

Tamie Preston

Tamie is a graduate of Dodge City High School, obtained her Bachelors Degree in Physical Education (K-12) from Kansas State University and obtained a Masters Degree from Fort Hays State University in Educational Administration. She has been a: Physical Education Teacher at Central Elementary, Principal at Linn Elementary and Activities Director at Dodge City High School.
Her parents moved to Dodge City from Manhattan when she was one year old and her family made First Christian Church their church home. She has been involved in various church activities over the years.
Greg and Tamie have two married children and Seven grandkids that all live in the area. They love to attend Kansas State Football games, travel, camp, hike and spend time with family and friends.

Grace Janzen |
Children's Minister
Grace is originally from Cimarron, KS and graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Secondary English Education. Before coming to FCCDC, Grace taught English at DCMS and DCHS. She is married to Coby Janzen and they have a son named Peter who was born in May of 2024. They also have one dog named Bella. Grace enjoys reading, golfing, knitting, and baking.

Cassy Meyers

Cassy considers Montrose, Colorado, to be her hometown, as it's where she has lived the longest. Her parents managed hotels across the U.S., which meant her family moved around frequently. She is the eldest of five siblings, and they mean the world to her. In December 2023, she proudly became an aunt to her beloved niece, Amelia.
At home, Cassy has two adorable but mischievous pups, Paisleigh (Heeler/Aussie Mix) and Aspen (Husky).
Cassy graduated from high school in Lewis Center, Ohio.
Her hobbies include drawing, painting, and cooking. She’s also an avid football fan, cheering for both the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots. A fun fact about her: she once tried the world’s hottest chocolate bar, with an intense 9 million Scoville heat units (SHU).
